NEXUS 2025 Will Offer Vital Tools for Missions Multiplication, Leadership Development, Youth Ministry, Pastoral Coaching, Biblical Discipleship, and So Much More

If you’re seeking “vital tools” to fuel a “movement of multiplication” in your church or if you want to remove your leadership-development “barriers to the gospel,” the Baptist Churches of New England (BCNE) is organizing its inaugural NEXUS Conference, which ought to be an essential addition to your calendar.

If you want to become a spiritual influencer in your workplace or understand the Bible’s discipleship principles so you can engage “in Christ’s plan for kingdom multiplication,” then you ought to be one of the two hundred people expected November 7-8 at the historic First Baptist Church, Marlborough, Massachusetts.

Noted leadership development consultant Mac Lake, founder of Multiply Group, will challenge attendees to better understand and enhance their church’s “leadership development pipeline” when he gives two keynotes on Saturday; and Ty Childers, senior pastor of Fairview Baptist Church, Spartanburg, South Carolina, will address the NEXUS 2025 theme, “Above and Beyond,” (from Ephesians 3:20-21, HCSB), when he preaches BCNE’s Annual Sermon Friday night.

    An invitation to NEXUS

An Invitation to NEXUS

The members and pastor of First Baptist Church, Marlborough, Massachusetts, will host the BCNE’s inaugural NEXUS Conference.

It’s appropriate that NEXUS, known until this year as the BCNE Annual Meeting, is being held at the Marlborough church, which has experienced miraculous growth in only a few years. Reflecting the reality of the city itself, First Baptist these days is interculturally diverse. Before they invited Logan Loveday to be their pastor, the members were thinking of donating their building to the city. As reported by the New England Baptist News Service in February, the church was revitalized and the 140+ members or regular attenders today are from Brazil, Cameroon, Cuba, Guyana, Haiti, India, Nigeria, the Philippines, and the United States.

Someone should attend the annual conference to be updated on all the BCNE events, conferences, webinars, news, training, and resources, said Sandra Coelho, a New England native, who is the NEXUS organizer and BCNE’s Leadership Development Coordinator. She mentioned the developments and new staff of the “next-generation” ministries with children, youth, and collegians; the growing church revitalization efforts; the online seminars; the safety and security resources; and growth of the regional networks and affiliated associations.

In addition to plenaries and breakouts, those present will hear Executive Director Terry Dorsett’s annual report, an address by BCNE President Lierte Soares Jr., and reports from the Church Multiplication Team, the North American Mission Board, the International Mission Board, BCNE’s partnership with European Baptists, the Northeastern Baptist College, the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, and staff updates.

Also on the conference program: Regional coordinators and association directors will participate in a panel discussion. BCNE will present the annual Ray Allen Evangelism and Robert Brindle Church Planting awards. (Allen and Brindle were longtime BCNE staff members.) Those who represent BCNE churches will be asked to elect a president and adopt a 2026 budget. Worship is always a highlight at annual meetings.

When someone registers for and attends the NEXUS Conference (the cost of which is $40, which includes Friday dinner, Saturday lunch—or $20 for just one day), they will receive a packet of information with the meeting materials, a detailed map to free parking near the church, and a schedule for BCNE’s shuttle vans.
