How to Pray for Youth Ministry in 2024

While many ministries slow down after the holiday season, Youth Ministry in New England will ramp up with a busy January and February! We’re excited and expectant for what God has in store for teenagers and their leaders in New England.

As partners in ministry, will you commit to praying for our two upcoming Youth events?

Pray for: YEC (Youth Encountering Christ) Conference - January 26-28, 2024

Use this prayer guide in the coming weeks leading up to YEC, where hundreds of teens (grades 6-12) will gather to worship, connect, have fun, and grow in their relationship with God.

MONDAY: SPEAKER

  • Pray that God will help Pastor Jody Jennings as he prepares to share God's Word and Dr. Rebecca McLaughlin as she prepares to teach breakout sessions.

  • Pray that God's truth would comfort, challenge, and convict everyone attending.

TUESDAY: STUDENTS

  • Pray that God would open students' hearts and minds to hear the Gospel and surrender their lives to Jesus.

  • Pray for students by name from your church who will be attending YEC.

  • Pray for other youth groups from across New England that will attend YEC.

WEDNESDAY: STAFF & BAND

  • Pray for worship leader Mike Hong, those leading alongside him, and the audio and tech people.

  • Pray for the staff who are preparing for and organizing YEC.

THURSDAY: CHAPERONES

  • Pray for God to prepare the chaperones spiritually, sustain them through the weekend, and work through them to set an example, lead, serve, and minister to students.

FRIDAY: HOTEL STAFF & LOGISTICS

  • Pray for the Sturbridge Host Hotel staff as they work through the weekend and that YEC groups would be good witnesses for Christ.

  • Pray for protection from illness or injury for all attending YEC.

  • Pray for safe travels to and from the hotel for all groups.

Pray for: Quest 25 - February 15-24, 2024

Twenty-one high school juniors from youth groups around New England have been recommended, applied, and were selected for the Quest experience. These students from Q25 will be traveling in three different teams to Puerto Rico, Scotland, and the Dominican Republic.

  • Pray that these 21 students will make time and space for God to speak to them through His Word leading up to and on the trip.

  • Pray for the 10 faculty as they prepare to leave their jobs and families for a week and minister to and challenge the students.

  • Pray that students will learn to serve and lead like Jesus throughout their experience.

  • Pray for travel safety and no complications for all three teams.

Q25 - Puerto Rico Team

Q25 - Dominican Republic Team

Q25 - Scotland Team

Puerto Rico - 3 faculty, 6 students

Q21 was the first team to travel and serve in Puerto Rico. The team will partner with Send Relief to support ongoing hurricane relief and local congregations.

Dominican Republic - 4 faculty, 8 students

Quest began its relationship with the Dominican Republic with Q2 and has been sending teams there yearly except for two missed years during the pandemic. The team will serve in the village of Cercadillo alongside a ministry friend, Ina York, and local Dominican pastors.

Scotland - 3 faculty, 7 students

Scotland provides a location similar to New England for students to return and incorporate leadership opportunities at home. The team will work with local missionaries and learn the culture of the people.
