IMB Europe partnership: Take the first step
I am thankful for the opportunity to share how God called me to missions, specifically to Poland. I will focus on the general calling and how we ended up in Europe. My walk with the Lord began shortly after my eighteenth birthday. At the time I knew I wanted to be a veterinarian, this was a dream of mine since I was six years old. As I started college that dream did not change in my mind, but God was already leading me down a different road. I had a job in an animal hospital, gaining vital experience for the future and everything seemed to be on track.

Give them good songs
I can’t help but chuckle as my small family sings to the Lord during family worship. We rarely sing in the right pitch, we fumble over lyrics, and our ability to keep the correct tune is inconsistent. We don’t play any instruments, which would help guide us or at least drown us out a bit. It’s truly a sound only the Lord and a mother could love. One might wonder, if our talents are so pitiful and possibly even painful to the ear, why sing to the Lord during family worship? Why not just read the Scriptures and pray?

The generational ripples of sin
Have you ever given much thought to how your life impacts others? I remember the last funeral we had in town for a young life that ended far to early due to self-medication. Seeing the sorrow and hurt left behind after this death crushed my heart.
When relating to folks deeply entrenched in their sin there is a phrase that is all too common: “I am only hurting myself.” This is a lie straight from the father of lies. Have we truly stopped to ponder the effect our sin has on those around us? Have we ever considered the ramifications our supposedly small or inconsequential act of disobedience toward the Father might have for future generations?

Why study and obey Scripture?
We need to study, know and obey the Word of God. We can’t underestimate the importance of this issue in our Christian lives.
