Strengthened to Multiply: Coming Alongside New England's Local Churches
Recently, church planters and their team members from across New England gathered in Connecticut for our Send Network Training Retreat, an intensive time focused on the missionary task: engage the city, make disciples, plant the church. Eleven new churches were represented, including English and language churches, reflecting the full diversity of the communities we’re seeking to reach throughout New England.
For church planter Joshua Mancini, the retreat was another reminder of why this partnership matters. “New England doesn’t make church planting easy, and that’s exactly why having Send New England in our corner has meant so much,” he shared. “They understand the ground we’re working on, and through training, coaching, relationships, and events like Send Network trainings, they’ve helped us feel equipped to plant a healthy, gospel-centered church with deep roots in this region.”
Underneath all of this is one simple conviction: partnering with local churches to plant churches everywhere for everyone. God has entrusted His mission to His church, not to networks or organizations. Our role is to come alongside local churches rather than work around them, resourcing you as you engage your community, develop disciples and leaders, and take your next best step toward multiplication. The men and women God is calling to plant New England’s next churches are likely already sitting in your pews, waiting to be recognized, challenged, and given a way forward.
This is why walking alongside the Baptist Churches of New England matters so much. BCNE churches have faithfully proclaimed the gospel across New England for generations, and most of our planting churches are themselves BCNE churches. We’re grateful for the generosity of BCNE churches through the Cooperative Program. That giving fuels this vision and makes it possible to raise up and send new planters throughout our region.
In partnership with BCNE, we want to come alongside your local church and help you take your next best step for multiplication. We want to help you get stronger. We want to learn together. And together, we believe we can see a multiplication of new churches, everywhere, for everyone.
We’re working on plans for our next Residency Builder in the spring of 2027, and we want to invite your church into this season of training and preparation as we raise up the next generation of planters for New England. Keep an eye on the BCNE social media channels and calendar to find out when this next great event will take place.
