New LIFEMARK movie covers difficult family topics & reminds us that restorative ministry is needed in New England

Have you seen the new Kendrick brothers’ (Courageous, Fireproof, Flywheel, etc.) movie: LIFEMARK?

As the new Restoration Ministry Coach for the BCNE, I highly encourage you to do so or arrange to host a watch party at your church. The movie follows the life of a young, adopted man as he questions reaching out to his birth parents. This new Christian movie covers some challenging issues surrounding children and families, including adoption, fostering, abortion, and other family life issues, and handles them well. I know that my congregation and I have done so and been hugely blessed.

For those who have seen it, it has likely stirred an interest in developing a ministry focused on protecting children and families or supporting an existing para-church ministry. Since protecting children and families is one of our focus areas for restoration ministry, we want to help you develop such a ministry. Over 20 years ago, my mother established a local crisis pregnancy center, now a CareNet affiliate, so I have always strongly supported protecting children and families. With the overturning of Roe v. Wade and the resulting blowback against life-affirming centers, our prayers, support, and giving in these areas are more critical than ever.

The ministry your church is considering need not be strictly focused on the issues of adoption, fostering, or abortion. Our church currently supports children and families with a marriage and family counseling ministry, supports our local domestic violence shelter, and offers a children’s clothing trailer. There are many ways in which your church and congregation can get involved with ministries in your community.

I would ask you to prayerfully consider the opportunities and equipping available through my office at the BCNE to be a resource for your church.
