Basic chaplaincy training is a two-day event led by Bill Hoops. The following topics will be covered: Uniqueness of Crisis Ministry in Disasters, Overview of the Crisis Response, Overview of the Trauma Response, The Art of Story-Listening, Crisis Intervention Models, Compassion in Crisis, Comforting Grief in Disasters, Spiritual Dimensions of Trauma, Ministering in the Midst of Diversity, Operational Stress First Aid (OSFA)
A $40 fee includes training materials, 4 meals, and snacks. Housing can be arranged at the Rice Lodge for $25/night. Email ricelodge@bcne.net for reservations.

Involving Southern Baptists in Disaster Relief (Basic Training)
Sharing Your Faith (Usually provided along with Basic Training)
Recent Background Check
Letter of recommendation from your Pastor, Elder Board or Deacon Board
