Dr. Terry W. Dorsett
As a Mid-Westerner who moved to the South as a teenager, and then to New England after graduate school, Dr. Dorsett has learned to relate to people from a wide variety of backgrounds. He served on staff at Thomas Road Baptist Church, Lynchburg, Virginia, one of America’s largest churches. He also served as pastor of a rural church in Vermont that had less than 30 congregants when he arrived.
His ability to relate to people from a variety of backgrounds, along with his experience in leading churches and mission organizations of various sizes, gives Dr. Dorsett a deep well of experience to draw from and the adaptability to help churches and mission organizations move toward positive growth.
Since 2015 Dr. Dorsett has also served as the Executive Director of the Baptist Foundation of New England. The Baptist Foundation oversees a variety of endowment funds that awards grants and makes loans to Baptist churches and gives scholarships to individuals within those churches who are preparing for ministry. Under Dr. Dorsett’s leadership the endowments at the Foundation have grown by 30%.
He has authored 8 books and writes regularly for Baptist Press and for his own blog, which can be found at www.terrydorsett.com.
