in New England

You don't have to travel far from home to go on mission. Your church can help fill vital project and partnership needs right here in New England!

Serve Outside New England

Interested in serving on mission in another part of the United States? Our office has connections with numerous state and regional Baptist conventions, including a partnership with the Tennessee Baptist Convention, which lists mission requests through their City Reach initiative.

We also lead and coordinate Disaster Relief trips on an as-needed basis. Contact Terry Dorsett at 508-393-6013 x224 to learn more about current opportunities.

Highlighted Opportunity

The BCNE has made a commitment to partner with NC Baptists On Mission and Eastern Baptist Association of Warsaw, NC, in their efforts to rebuild 550 homes after the destruction caused by Hurricane Florence.

Your church can help! We need two kinds of short-term mission teams willing to serve in North Carolina in 2019: construction rebuild teams and ministry teams to serve in the thrift store. Home reconstruction may involve installing drywall and plywood flooring, minimal bathroom and kitchen installs and various other tasks to get homeowners back into their homes. Along the way, you can also meet spiritual needs.

The local association will provide assignments, housing, materials and food, so the only cost is transportation. Contact Terry Dorsett at 508-393-6013 x224 to schedule a trip and get connected.

Request a Mission Team or Partner

Every year we publish an updated list of New England ministry needs. Requests for 2020 are due by Oct. 15, 2019, but we recommend sending requests in during the summer months to increase your chances of finding a match. Requests can only be accepted from BCNE member churches in good standing.

Ideas for Requests

  • Evangelistic events (children's programs, VBS, sports camps, ESL, block parties, movie nights, etc.).

  • Skilled laborers for construction projects.

  • Prayerwalking and survey work.

  • Individuals to serve as core or leadership team members, such as worship or children's leaders.

  • Church leadership development and discipling.

  • Medium-term partnerships (2 months to 2 years).

Guidelines for Requests

  1. Fill out the online form. Be sure to write a concise, interesting description that shows how this project fits into your overall strategy of reaching people for Christ.

  2. Plan in advance. Remember the deadline to submit requests is Oct. 15, but earlier is better.

  3. If your request involves work with children or youth, you must ensure that all incoming volunteers have had a background check within the last three years and have received training on child/youth protection in ministry. (Visit our Kids Safe page if you need some guidance on this step.)

  4. We will share your request with our partners and networks, but unfortunately, we can't promise that we'll find a match.

  5. Remember that, as the requesting church, you are responsible for managing the project.
