Southern Baptist Seminary in Northborough

Our center in the Boston area (Northboro MA) currently operates in partnership with the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY (SBTS) and the Baptist Convention of New England (BCNE).

1. We offer a fully accredited graduate level study program for the Master of Divinity degree. This program provides preparation for professional ministry and is also applicable for effective lay ministry. Students who have not completed college may qualify for the Diploma of Theology program.

2. This education is affordable, currently costing $316 per credit hour for non-Southern Baptist students and $158 per credit hour for Southern Baptists. Gifts from Southern Baptist churches subsidize Southern Baptist students’ tuition.

3. We are also accessible, meeting in facilities of the Baptist Convention of New England, located in Northborough, Massachusetts (near Interstate 495 and route 20). For students staying overnight, there is a nominal charge of $10 per night ($7.50 if you bring your own linens).

The program design consists of two 15-week semesters each year (Fall and Spring); three courses each semester, offered in sequence. Each course typically lasts 5 weeks.

These courses are offered on weekends, so students can maintain a regular work schedule and still complete their studies. Classes are held on Friday nights at 7 PM until 9:30 PM and continue Saturday from 8:30 AM until 2:30 PM with a break for lunch. Kitchen facilities are available for student use.

A great deal of importance is attached to the application of learning in the context of ministry, which involves supervision of ministry by both professionals and lay persons. We believe the learning experience should be relevant for ministry in this location and for your specific ministry calling.

Yours in Christ,

Dr. Ernest B. Beevers
