Missions Education Mission Education Organizations- Bible-based … Church-centered … World Focused
Southern Baptists have long been the leaders in shaping and discipling Christians to be on mission for Christ. In order to reach the globe with the gospel in an Acts 1:8 paradigm, it is paramount that churches have a strategy for teaching and modeling to members not only about missions in a far off context, but how young and old can be missional Christians right where they live.
Among Southern Baptists there are two organizations who take the lead in Missions Education, particularly among children and young people. The North American Mission Board (this was formerly done by Men's Brotherhood) has a role with boys grade 1 through 6, short Drop In Missions Education and soon, a comprehensive 13 week- age graded Missions curriculum.
The Women's Missionary Union has long served to bring missions education to the churches to a broad array of age and gender groups. WMU’s purposes is to educate about missions. This objective is met through age-level organizations / programs formed in churches and through their many publications.
Organizations for all ages seeking to equip the whole church!
