Workplace Evangelism PDF Print E-mail
For most church members, the mission field is where a person works. God is a missionary God and sends us to a world in need of Him. Jesus taught that "as the Father has sent me, I am sending you" (John 20:21).

Being a missionary to co-workers is as much a calling as reaching people in another country is for an international missionary. The Great Commission (Mt. 28:19-20 & Acts 1:8) was not just for missionaries to other cultures in other places. It was for you, right where you are- your Jerusalem.

In the book, Breaking the Missional Code (Ed Stetzer & David Putman) the authors wrote, “If we are going to join God on his mission, we have to recognize that we are missionaries… wherever he places us—just like the first disciples” (p. 3). In today’s splintered post-modern American culture, we’re able to reach a broad array of cultures and beliefs right in our workplace.
