New England can be an expensive place to live. As a result, we are looking for church planters who are willing to do whatever it takes to start a church here in New England. Most, but not all, of our missions pastors are bi-vocational. Sometimes the planter's wife will work to supplement their income or provide health insurance.
It is expected that a church planter will start raising these funds before coming to the field. Once here, additional funds may be added, but the bulk of funding should be in place before arriving. In fact, all prospective NAMB planters across North America (not just in New England) are required to submit a “Planting Projector,” estimating their anticipated sources of income before their candidacy is approved for placement.
