Here is some background information on our church planting staff.
Dr. Roberto Souza is a native of Brazil. He has a Ph.D. in New Testament and Greek from Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY. He served as the president of two seminaries in Brazil and also served as chief editor for the Brazilian convention's publishing house. He also pastored several large churches in Brazil. He and his wife, Zenilda, has served New England Baptists since 2001. He loves soccer and has been known to get up in the middle of the night to watch the World Cup. Rev. Robby Pitt is a native of Virginia. He met his wife, Kim, when they both served on the staff of the Colorado Baptist Convention. Robby has planted several churches, most recently the Daybreak Community Church in Burlington, VT. He serves as the church planting consultant for northern New England. Robby is a guitar player and never remembers where he put his car keys.
Rev. Greg Torres is a native of Puerto Rico, but has lived in Connecticut for over two decades. Greg was a successful businessman in the Hartford area before surrendering to the ministry. He has pastored the Iglesia Baptista de Hartford, and has recently planted another church in the greater Hartford area. Greg serves as the church planting consultant for southern New England. His wife is Angie. He is the best dressed member of the church planting team. |
