  • West Pawlet VT church plant (mpg4 about 4 min.)- God was calling Lyandon Warren, a bivocational associate pastor in Rutherfordton, N.C., who had helped lead Vacation Bible Schools in the community on two mission trips, to plant a church there. Today, with Warren as its missionary pastor, the church is seeing 50-80 people in attendance and people are finding Christ on a regular basis. The West Pawlet story illustrates how God worked through one man and his family to answer the call to missions service right here in the BCNE. It also shows how Southern Baptists - working cooperatively to identify opportunities, recruit leaders and provide funding - are seeing lives changed through church planting.

      • FRI EVE: For the Sake of the Gospel (MP3 about 1 hr, 12 min) An increasingly diverse and cynical society will no longer find credible the message of God's love for all people when preached from segregated pulpits and pews. Pursuit of a multi-ethnic vision for a local congregation is not about racial reconciliation. Rather, it's about reconciling the world to God through faith in Jesus Christ; and local congregations, as well, to the principles and practices of first century churches in which men and women of diverse background walked, worked and worshipped God together as one.
      • SAT MORN: Seven Core Commitments of a Multi-ethnic Church (MP3 about 56 min) If the kingdom of heaven is not segregated, why on earth is the local church? Yet it takes more than mere passion to build a healthy multi-ethnic church. The foundational truths for effective ministry to all people is considered.
      • SAT AFTERNOON: Seven Common Challenges of a Multi-ethnic Church (MP3 about 43 min) What are the challenges of multi-ethnic local church ministry, how can you overcome the obstacles, and why should you even try? The last thing we should do is split a church in the name of unity! Come consider practical, transferrable, ways to avoid this and for mixing diversity into your local church.
      • For Powerpoint Slides from these challenging messages, go here to the Mosaic web site to download from their library of resources.
    • Saturday Afternoon Panel Discussion (MP3 about 1 hr 9 min) All our conference speakers and teachers come together (Mark DeYmaz, David Wheeler, Chris Forbes, Juan Saa, Charles Hill, David Acosta, Bruce James and Dick Kiernan) led by moderator Tim Buehner for a lively discussion on the state of evangelism in America today. Why are baptisms and evangelism not as effective as we think today? Mass evangelism is compared to relational evangelism. Is God's empowerment missing?
    • Dr. David Wheeler - Serves in Lynchburg, VA at Liberty University and Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. He teaches Personal Evangelism and Church Growth at LBTS. Among other things, he has also been the Senior Pastor of three growing churches in Tennessee and Texas. • Pre-Conference Luncheon: “The Offensive Church... Creating a Movement, Not a Moment” A recent bumper sticker read, “I Love God . . . It’s His fans I Can’t Stand!”  Make no mistake, this statement is an indictment on the Church for being needlessly “offensive” through words, actions and attitudes.   On the other hand, God’s design is for His body, the Church, to be “on the offensive” in the areas of compassion, authentic evangelism, spiritual transformation, and multiplication. Why the church is not evangelizing and what we can do to change it is explored. Transferable harvest principles can dynamically transform your approach to ministry.  Practical ideas to apply in your field are discussed. Audio in 3 Parts- total session about 2 hr 30 min:
      • Breakout Session: “Breaking the Chains of Indifference... Moving from Sympathy to Empathy!” (MP3 about 1 hr, 13 min) “Indifference is Killing the Church!”  With phrases like, “who cares” and “whatever”, way too many congregations have subconsciously decided to protect their own interests with little regard to the pain and lostness residing in their surrounding communities.  Beginning with a brief study of John 4, this session can challenge you and your church to adopt consistent relational habits that will transform perception and application of the Great Commission.
    • Charles Hill- Church Planter from Utah– Chris is working on his second church plant, One Community Church in Salt Lake City and is the developer of the Sticks, a resource conference for small church leaders. He led 3 stand alone breakout sessions, best suited for pastors and church planters:
      • 1. 10 Breakthroughs to Maximize Effectiveness in Small Towns and Hard to Reach Places- (MP3 about 1 hr 30 min) If you are looking for proven, practical and Biblical methods in regard to evangelism, discipleship and leadership in small towns and hard to reach places, this session is very instructive. Explore form Chris' experience  breakthroughs, not “programs” and expose foundational issues that you can build upon to push through barriers in your personal, church, leadership and evangelistic arenas. If you need to learn how to do “a lot with a little” and draw on experience from those who have been right there in the trenches, this will help chart a course!
      • 2. Leadership Development as a Process for Disciple-Making and Evangelistic Growth- (MP3 about 53 min) If you are a leader in a smaller community or a hard to reach area [regardless of size], the #1 problem seen most is a lack of leadership. In this over-view session, examine how to start a Leadership Development Pipeline from scratch with little to no resources and all you need to begin is 1 other person! This overview is for those that want to know how to maximize leadership on every level [Staff/ Deacon/ Elder/ Volunteer/ Lay Person] and see disciple-making and evangelistic fervor grow. How does leadership development effect evangelism? You may be shocked at what you will discover.
      • 3. Leading Your Ministry on the 4 Levels That Jesus Modeled- (MP3 about 55 min) Evangelism, discipleship, and methodology for ministry must be looked at not through the lens of history, tradition, or the latest fads. When observing the 4 levels in which Jesus led, a model for engaging and effective ministry will emerge. How do these 4 levels affect evangelism? Well, 2,000+ years later people are still finding and modeling the truth of these 4 areas in churches and using this template as a guide and foundation. Questions like:  How many of you are still drawing a crowd or quit growing numerically? How many are doing one on one discipleship or are doing anything intentional to grow disciples? How many need to get to the next level, but are struggling?  are discussed. Also, examine Christ's model from the perspective of smaller communities and hard to reach places where resources and leadership is scarce.

The session will examine the importance of maintaining a passionate relationship with Christ in order to sow gospel seed. His passion must flow through our veins in order to lead us to do unimaginable things for God. Juan will be sharing the story of how LifeWay is going out to reach the lost in a consistent, compelling, and creative way. Remember, He said "Go!" (Fri & Sat morning this will be an English track.
