Preparation Tools for serving in North America
- Youth Ministries Going on short term mission trips (BCNE web page)
- ONE Short-term Missions Preparation Manual (PDF- 10MG) This manual was developed for teams planning on coming to New England, but is useful for any team. Preparation covers, leader information, forms, fund-raising, spiritual preparation and much more.
- Preparing to go International (International Mission Board)- Are you ready to respond to the challenge of volunteering overseas? You won’t regret it! Just ask those who have gone before you. Each year thousands of volunteers — people like yourself — go in His power throughout the world as evangelists, teachers, prayer walkers, musicians, athletes, medical personnel, Vacation Bible School workers, agriculturists and more.
- Travel:
- MTS travel services (Natl. web site) is a leader in providing travel arrangements globally for mission teams and missionaries. They provide a full spectrum of travel related services as well.
- Fellowship Travel (Natl. web site) They assist group leaders in arranging efficient and cost-effective travel.They provide customized volunteer packages, travel insurance, web based organizer, 24-hour emergency assistance and more.
- Background checks- Any mission team working with youth or children must have valid background checks done before going to the field to ensure the safety and protection of all. We highly recommend either of two sources: Protect My Ministry or Lifeway's Background checks.
- Mission Trip Insurance- Adams and Associates is our preferred and recommended insurance company providing inexpensive supplemental coverage for mission trips. We highly recommend all mission team members purchase additional insurance for their trip.
Preparation Tools for serving Internationally
- Safe Travel Solutions (Natl. web site)- Traveling to other countries to serve on short-term missons can be exciting, but foreign countries have different laws and rules that can expose your mission team to hazards. Safe Travel Solutions is a DVD training resource to help you plan ahead to take precautionary steps to insure the safety of your team. Do not go on an international trip without this valuable training. The BCNE also has this available in the lending library.
- Visas & Passports 2 Go (Natl. web site)- This is an online source for applying for and receiving your travel documents that is fast, reliable and professional. You may also go to your local U.S. Post Office to apply for a passport (see their natl. website for information and fees)
