Request teams or individuals/files/Pictures/Missions/O.N.E. Missions/one logo greenish_Resized_213x111.png to serve in a project alongside your church here in New England.

New England Churches who desire to request a team: There are 2 choices or pathways in requesting a short-term mission team or individuals through the BCNE. A church or pastor can either:

1. Post a general request which is shared on a master list of requests on our network with a number of our partners or...
2. Make a targeted request with our North Carolina partnership.

Details...
1. GENERAL REQUEST. Complete the REQUEST FORM PAGE to the best of your ability.

2. REQUEST DIRECTLY WITH North Carolina. Churches in NC are tremendously excited about a Partnership between our conventions. It officially begins in January 2010. They look forward to the opportunity to partner with you in ministry. Their desire is to work alongside you in reaching your community for Christ. Past teams have served in the following ways:
Vacation Bible Schools Community Surveys New ConstructionBack Yard Bible Clubs Evangelistic events Musical Concerts/Outreach RenovationsLeadership Training Sports Camp and Clinics Church Strengthening Revival Services…and more!
The process is simple:
  1. Pray about the ministry you would have a North Carolina team assist you in.
  2. Fill out a NC Volunteer Request Form, including as much detail as possible about the project – housing, meals, materials costs (if any). Fill out as many as you need.
  3. Send your requests to either the on-site coordinator for the NC Partnership that may exist in your Association, or directly with Mark Abernathy (NC Partnership Coordinator- mabernathy@ncbaptist.org) or contact Tim Buehner (tbuehner@bcne.net ).
  4. Your requests will be promoted among churches in North Carolina. Interested churches will be put in touch with you to work out all the logistical details.
  5. The NC Partnership Office does a mass mailing to all of the NC churches in early September. Therefore, it is important for your requests to be turned in as much as possible by August 31 (or earlier). All the details do not need to be figured out, just the important points. Of course, they will gladly receive your requests throughout the year, but most NC churches begin their missions planning 8-10 months in advance, and will be eager and ready to respond to this first mailing.
Forms you may need for NC requests:
There are many reasons for a church to request a team or several teams over the course of a year to serve:
  • Short-term mission service of any kind is the clinical lab of discipleship. Mission team members and host church members grow as disciples through these experiences.
  • As a means to be missional (Mat. 28:19-20 as well as Acts 1:8)- that is your church expanding God's kingdom work in your Jerusalem. This comes by adding to the human man hours and kingdom investment to your church's strategy for reaching your "Jerusalem" community.
  • More workers for sowing the gospel brings greater levels of prospects and visitors
  • Aid in church and community ministry evangelism initiatives (ESL, after school programs, children's camp ministry etc.)
  • Provide skilled laborers for evangelism to construction projects.
  • Christ can use the Mission team to infuse energy, vision and skills into your congregation as well as your congregation into the mission team.
When Requesting teams, realize:
  1. BCNE churches or Associations should do all they can to plan in advance for mission team requests. To mobilize groups takes planning and most churches that desire to fulfill a request hope to make those decisions before the end of a given year for the next year of activity. Therefore, we STRONGLY ENCOURAGE churches who wish to request a team, make that request before Aug. 30 of the year prior to your needed project. We know how difficult a deadline like this is to do and will accept requests up until February of the year of your need, but realize that this can reduce the possibility of your getting your request filled.
  2. We post these requests with many of our partners and networks of associations on the state level. Through this service, the BCNE is trying to provide exposure of your project needs with others. We are not in the role of forcing anyone to take a specific team or in any way would we interfere with your role of managing the project. We are just a resource to help and support your needs through connections.
  3. Writing a concise, yet interesting project description is very important when completing the form. A decent project description other than for example: ‘VBS team needed’- which translates: Very Boring Superficial to someone looking for a project. Show them how important this is to you by a good description.
  4. We would encourage your church to additionally utilize the national network bulletin board for project requests through the North American Mission Board called the Bridge. You will need to register with them, but this can be an effective form as well.
